Amber Teething Necklaces

Published by jessicaf under Baby Green Edit This

It looks like Baby Week here at Green Kids!  First we discussed the ease of cloth diapers and now I’m really excited to talk to you about amber teething necklaces.

When my 16 month old began teething at around 8 months I had never given her a lick of Tylenol or any other pain reliever.  I was determined not to resort to medication in this instance either.  I had very good success with Hyland’s teething tablets but I was also looking for something that would give her relief throughout the day.  enter the amber teething necklace.

I was, at first, confused by this product.  The phrase teething necklace meant to me that a child chews or sucks onb the object to obtain relief.  I thought that sounded only mildly dangerous.  But, fear not, your baby is not meant to put this kind of “teether” in his mouth.  Heres how an amber teething necklace works:

  1. Amber contains a very mild, natural analgesic (pain reliever)
  2. When the necklace ( a 13″ string of small amber beads) is worn under the clothing your baby’s skin warms the amber
  3. The amber then releases its healing properties into your baby’s skin..after all the epidermis is the largest organ on the human body

After doing my research I ordered a necklace through Inspired By Finn and it arrived just a few days later.  Much to my surprise it worked like a charm!  She wore it everyday through that teething episode and it improved her outlook immensely.  When it was accidently forgotten one day; the sitter called to say that K had been grumpy all day because she didn’t have it.

I am now a firm believer in the amber teething necklace.  There are several places to get them.  Do a Google search or order from Inspired By Finn…they have excellent customer service.

Happy Teething! Tongue out
